History
Established in 2003.
Leah worked in the Visual Effects industry for more than 10 years. Longing for a change of pace, she decided to buy Stitch Café in June of 2014 on her 40th Birthday, and The Altered Stitch was born! Drawing upon all of her artistic and professional experience, she is working hard to bring The Altered Stitch back from the brink of closing and to help take it to the next level.

The business was started in the living room of the original owner, and moved to it's current location in 2003. The second owner purchased Stitch Cafe in July of 2008 and owned the store for just under 6 years.

Before owning a yarn shop, Leah worked as a Visual Effects Artist for film, television, and commercials. Though her career was centered on digital art, Leah always came back to handmade arts as a way to ground herself. She dabbles in mixed media art, glass work, painting, drawing, and of course knitting!
